Cajuns softball drops finale at Georgia Southern 2-0

STATESBORO, Ga. — A pair of solo home runs and a shutout from Dixie Raley lifted the Georgia Southern softball team to a 2-0 win over No. 8 Louisiana-Lafayette in the series finale Sunday.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (37-7, 18-2 Sun Belt) pressured Raley in the second and third innings by loading the bases, but she managed to escape and keep the game scoreless.

The Eagles (29-24, 12-9) grabbed the lead on a two-out home run by Emily Snider against Cajuns pitcher Alex Stewart in the third. The hosts extended their lead to 2-0 when AJ Hamilton led off the fourth with a home run.
