Cajuns pole vault standout Morgann Leleux secures spot in NCAA championships

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Morgann Leleux may have a new school, but the results were the same Friday.

Leleux, a four-time All-American in the pole vault, again earned a spot in the NCAA championships — this time in a Louisiana-Lafayette uniform — when she tied for fourth at the NCAA East preliminary rounds.

A transfer from Georgia, Leleux endured a rain shower that shut down the competition for about 30 minutes and then cleared two heights to claim one of the 12 spots available for nationals June 8-11.

Leleux was one of four athletes from state schools other than LSU who earned trips to Eugene, Oregon, for the national championships.
