Cajuns pitcher Evan Guillory’s out-pitch goes AWOL

Louisiana-Lafayette sophomore right-hander Evan Guillory was cruising until he couldn’t find his put-away pitch Tuesday night against LSU.

Once that happened, the Tigers started to knock him around. And on the occasions he did find the pitch he needed to throw, his defenders weren’t there to back him up.

Guillory retired the first seven batters he faced before Brody Wofford singled with one-out in the third inning. The Cajuns forced Wofford out at second base on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Cole Freeman, and that’s when LSU started stringing together clutch hits.

After a Freeman stolen base, Kramer Robertson blooped a double into shallow right field to knot the game up at one.
