Cajuns in tight race for top-two seed in Sun Belt

LAFAYETTE — Saturday night’s 68-64 loss to Little Rock did not change the the University of Louisiana at Lafayette men’s basketball team’s position in the Sun Belt Conference standings, but it will make it much harder for the Cajuns to earn a regular-season title.

But the conference title race might not be the one to watch out for as the season enters the final three weeks.

With six games left to go in the regular season, the Cajuns (14-9, 10-4) are two games behind the Trojans (22-3, 12-2) in the conference race — effectively three games, when considering Little Rock swept the season series and owns a tiebreaker.
