Cajuns goes on road for twin bill at Baylor

LAFAYETTE — There should be an interesting clash between styles in a Tuesday doubleheader in Waco, Texas, when the heavy hitters of Louisiana-Lafayette run up against the stout pitching staff of Baylor.

The fifth-ranked Cajuns (25-2) are ranked in the top-five of virtually every major offensive category nationally, including batting average (.367, No. 5), runs per game (9.07, No. 2) and home runs per game (2.19, No. 1).

Though they’re not slouches offensively, the No. 20 Bears have surged out to a 26-6 record on the strength of a solid pitching staff that ranks among the nation’s leaders in ERA.
