LAFAYETTE — On a blustery day at the ballpark, the Louisiana-Lafayette baseball team pounded out 14 hits, eight of which went for extra bases, en route to a 15-4 thumping of Little Rock in Saturday afternoon’s series opener, the first game of a doubleheader.
That run support was more than enough for sophomore left-hander Gunner Leger (2-1), who struck out seven while limiting the Trojans to one run on three hits in six innings.
Little Rock got on the board first with a hit-and-run double by designated hitter Dalton Thomas three batters into the game.
