LAFAYETTE — Louisiana-Lafayette men’s basketball assistant coach Gus Hauser is leaving the program to help run a family business in his native Kentucky, the school announced Friday night.

Hauser, a native of Barbourville, Kentucky, spent three seasons with the Ragin’ Cajuns after stints at Wofford, Coastal Carolina, Louisiana-Monroe, New Mexico State and Louisville. During Hauser’s 13 years at the Division I level, he was part of nine postseason appearances (four NCAA, two NIT, two CIT, one CBI), and his teams have a record of 266-166.

Joshua Parrott of Basketball Times reported that Hauser would return to Kentucky to work for PT Pros, his family’s physical therapy/sports rehabilitation business.
