MOBILE, Ala. – Freshman Hannes Burger posted a time of 25 minutes, 8.20 seconds to finish eighth overall and lead the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's cross country team to a sixth-place finish at the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Championships on Saturday at the Brookley Field Golf Course.
Burger, who earned second-team All-SBC honors, paced the Ragin' Cajuns in his first conference meet while helping lead Louisiana to a sixth-place finish in the team standings. Louisiana, ranked No. 13 in the USTFCCCA South Central Region poll, scored 131 points to finish ahead of host South Alabama (146), Arkansas State (187), ULM (244) and Little Rock (283).
