Los Angeles Rams safety Taylor Rapp has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Week 6 against the New York Giants. This is the first time the third-year safety from Washington has earned the honor.
Rapp intercepted Daniel Jones twice and recorded three pass breakups in the Rams’ 38-11 victory in New York. The safety also notched five tackles and was around the football on a frequent basis Sunday afternoon. Overall the Rams forced four takeaways against Jones, including an interception by rookie corner Robert Rochell and a forced fumble by OLB Obo Okoronkwo.
