After the NFL and NFL Player’s Association came together on the latest collective bargaining agreement prior to the 2020 season, the two sides left things open for a potential move to a 17-game regular season starting with the upcoming 2021 campaign. However, a move may still not be made for some time as new media deals must get done and re-worked ahead of adding 16 more games to the NFL’s schedule.
According to a Sunday report by NBC Sports’ Peter King, a tentative plan would give all AFC teams a ninth home game in 2021, with the NFC getting the same opportunity during the 2023 season.
