Rams' Jared Goff dealing with bruised thumb on throwing hand

The Los Angeles Rams suffered a series of injuries on Sunday in a loss to the Dallas Cowboys that could cause for concern as they teeter on the verge of playoff elimination and prepare for the San Francisco 49ers on a short week.

Rams coach Sean McVay told reporters Monday that quarterback Jared Goff suffered a thumb bruise on his right throwing hand in the second quarter when he threw an interception and hit his hand on the helmet of left tackle Andrew Whitworth.

"He was able to kind of get through it," McVay said of Goff, who passed for 284 yards and 2 touchdowns, with an interception, in the 44-21 loss.
