QB who started for Rams this season could be next to replace Zach Wilson on Jets

If there is such a thing as a poor man’s Josh Dobbs, then Brett Rypien has found his calling card. From signing with the L.A. Rams in May as insurance for Matthew Stafford, to beating out Stetson Bennett as the backup, to starting in place of Stafford in an ugly loss to the Green Bay Packers, to being released and picked up by the Seattle Seahawks, Rypien is on the move again and there’s time left for him to start for another team this season: The New York Jets.

The Jets signed Rypien off of the Seahawks practice squad on Tuesday, putting him close to starting for New York given the franchise’s erratic situation at quarterback since Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles in September.
