The late Don Coryell, whose coaching genius touched the two greatest stretches of professional football in St. Louis, has finally gotten his due.

Coryell, who died in 2010 at the age of 85, has been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Class of 2023 was announced during the NFL Honors television show Thursday night. Induction ceremonies take place Aug. 5 in Canton, Ohio.

“It’s just kind of bittersweet that he’s not here to see it,” Dan Dierdorf said.
