It's a milestone undertaking for NBC's Mike Tirico, who is set for a never-before daily double of assignments — hosting Olympics and Super Bowl coverage on the same day for a major television network.
Tirico returned Tuesday from China, where he anchored NBC's first week of Winter Olympics prime-time coverage before resuming those duties stateside at the network's compound in Connecticut, where its other announcers calling events are based. He missed just one night despite taking about a 6,800-mile trip. And he is to be back in the air Friday, when he heads to California to host NBC's coverage for the rest of the Olympics and also will anchor the network's coverage of the Super Bowl, between the Rams and Cincinnati Bengals, on Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
