He was the first player picked in a National Football League supplemental draft in 1984. He went on be named the league MVP twice, was selected to seven Pro Bowls and then soared into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Steve Young spent his first two NFL seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before being traded to San Francisco, where he made his huge mark after first backing up Joe Montana. But could he have had that standout career in St. Louis instead of with the 49ers? He recently said he almost was dealt to the Cardinals instead of the ’Niners.
