Matthew Stafford thumb X-rays were negative, however IR still a possibility

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday that X-ray’s on Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford came back negative, so for the time being it looks as though the veteran has not broken or fractured his throwing hand thumb, however he is still dealing with some kind of issue, possibly more tissue or muscle related.

In addition, The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue also confirmed via “X” that the team is considering short term IR for Stafford but still gathering information on how to proceed.

From The Insiders on #NFLPlus: #Giants QB Tyrod Taylor is still in the hospital, while the status of #Rams QB Matthew Stafford (thumb) is up in the air.
