Should Los Angeles Rams fans be concerned about starting quarterback Matthew Stafford? The team certainly didn’t act like it. They emphasized protecting and optimizing him, deploying 12-personnel packages on more than 40 percent of offensive snaps. Unfortunately, that didn’t translate into points, as the Rams managed just 14 despite being fully healthy. Still, the 37-year-old quarterback turned in a very impressive performance.
According to his PFF Week 1 grade, Stafford earned a 92.9 overall — the highest among all NFL quarterbacks. And that’s the kind of number that should make the Tennessee Titans defense stop, look, and listen.
