As the Los Angeles Rams continue to trim their roster down to 53 players before the deadline, it looks like the team is keeping busy with some trades as well after the team acquired tight end Derek Carrier from the Washington Redskins. And while this may not seem like the most exciting trade in the world for Rams fans, it’s safe to say Sean McVay wouldn’t have put in the effort to land his former tight end if he didn’t have some sort of plan to use him during the 2017 NFL season.
Carrier spent the last two seasons with McVay as a member of the Redskins, and even though his numbers are far from impressive, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Los Angeles head coach had plans to use him on the blocking side, especially after the team parted ways with Sam Rogers.
