THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- While the Los Angeles Rams feel secure with Matthew Stafford under center for the 2023 season and beyond, the team will have a decision to make at backup quarterback.
In what was already going to be an interesting decision with backups John Wolford (restricted) and Bryce Perkins (exclusive restricted) being free agents after this season, it became even more so when the Rams claimed quarterback Baker Mayfield off waivers from the Carolina Panthers for the final five games of the season.
Mayfield, who is playing this season on his fifth-year option, will be a free agent this offseason.
