The St. Louis Rams have waived RB Isaiah Pead today and made corresponding moves to promote CB Brandon McGee from the practice squad and fill that slot with newly signed WR Nick Toon.

With RB Trey Watts facing a potential Week 5 return, Pead was facing a wall in terms of his future with the Rams. A second-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft from the RGIII trade boon, Pead was the first of five running backs drafted by Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher and General Manager Les Snead in just four years.
