The sports memorabilia market has been booming. Items from Tom Brady, LeBron James, Patrick Mahomes and Michael Jordan have sold for millions in recent years.
A Jordan jersey sold September 15 for an eye-popping $10.091 million. It is the highest price ever paid for a game-worn jersey. It comes just four months after a Diego Maradona jersey worn in the iconic "Hand of God" 1986 World Cup game set the record.
The record for highest-selling sports card has changed three times since January 2021. It has been held by two different Honus Wagner T206 cards and two 1952 Mickey Mantle cards.
