Talen Horton-Tucker’s career night not enough as Lakers fall to Warriors

Down a third of their roster and with nothing left to play for this season, a pressure-free Lakers team had a good showing but ultimately lost to a playoff-bound Warriors squad, 128-112.

Too many self-inflicted wounds, namely in the way of turnovers in the second half, doomed a Lakers team that made up what it didn’t have in talent with effort and energy. Led by Talen Horton-Tucker’s career-high 40 points — 19 of those coming in the fourth quarter — on 15-28 shooting and Malik Monk’s 24 points and seven rebounds on 8-17 shooting, the Lakers tried to keep pace with the Warriors.
