Rob Pelinka: Dwight Howard Remains Undecided On 2019-20 NBA Season Restart

With the July 1 deadline looming, Dwight Howard is still undecided on what his status will be when the NBA resumes in Orlando, Florida.

According to Lakers GM Rob Pelinka, Howard is still mulling over his options.

If Howard’s decision comes after July 1, the Lakers will be significantly handicapped in who they are allowed to sign as his replacement.

The NBA set a deadline of June 24 for all players to notify their teams if they will be sitting out, but Howard needed more time to decide.

Now, if he chooses to opt-out, the Lakers’ free agent options will be limited to players with zero to three years of NBA experience in the NBA, therefore ruling out DeMarcus Cousins.
