Report: Knicks Receive Permission To Interview Jason Kidd For Head Coaching Job

Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Jason Kidd reportedly may soon be landing another head coaching job — this time with New York’s other basketball team now.

According to Marc Stein of New York Times, the New York Knicks have ‘requested and received permission’ from the Lakers to interview Kidd for their coaching job.

Currently the NBA’s highest-paid assistant coach, Kidd would be transitioning from a championship-caliber Lakers team to a rebuilding Knicks team if he is hired.

During the 2019 NBA offseason, speculation surrounding Kidd’s true intentions in becoming a Lakers assistant coach began to run wild with many believing it was only a matter of time before he eventually replaced head coach Frank Vogel.
