Report: Anthony Davis Has New Player Option Date For 2020 NBA Free Agency

The NBA and the NBPA have finalized the revised CBA for the upcoming Orlando restart and it has given the Lakers a definitive date for Anthony Davis to decide on his player option.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Davis’ new player option date is October 14, potentially just one day after Game 7 of the NBA Finals could take place.

The new CBA gave a multitude of players, including DeMar DeRozan and Gordon Hayward, new dates to make a decision on their options but none will be as polarizing as Davis.

A little over a year ago, the Lakers traded Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and the fourth overall pick in the 2019 Draft to acquire Davis, abruptly ending their rebuilding process and beginning their championship aspirations.
