Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had a strong first season with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017-18 but was wildly inconsistent and ineffective for much of this past season. Still, his return should be helpful for the team.

When the Lakers announced they had signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in early July, the reaction among fans was not exactly uniformly positive. For one, he didn’t play well for much of the 2018-19 season, and only started to perform up to his capability towards the end of the season, when all was already lost.

For another, he signed a two-year deal that was worth just over $16 million, which equates to a little over $8 million a year.
