LeBron James was planning to debut a new Lakers colorway of his signature shoe for the playoffs today

The Los Angeles Lakers were supposed to play their first playoff game since 2013 on Saturday, but due to the coronavirus pandemic in the United States, they didn’t, and there’s no telling when or if they will at this point.

That uncertainty is probably why NBA 2K felt comfortable revealing the purple and gold Nike LeBron 17 colorway that James was going to wear for Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs on Saturday, as opposed to the actual day of the postseason:

James confirmed that he planned to wear that pair in the Lakers’ first-round matchup via his Instagram story on Saturday:

There are a few different purple and gold colorways of the LeBron 17 already, but these were going to be the sneakers that James was going to make his Lakers postseason debut in, which would have made them somewhat historic.
