Listeners of the Lakers' flagship radio station in recent weeks have likely heard a promotion that captures the lofty expectations that come with having the No. 2 pick in Thursday's NBA draft.

The familiar booming baritone of a faceless announcer emphatically lists the budding superstars within reach for the Lakers: Okafor! Towns! Russell!

“Which one,” he thunders on KSPN/710, “will wear purple and gold and be the next to have their jersey hang from the rafters at Staples?”

After winning 48 games in two seasons, the 16-time champion Lakers are in desperate need of a swift rebuild.
