They could clinch it as soon as today, with either a win in their game against the Toronto Raptors tonight, or a Clippers loss to the New Orleans Pelicans in the earlier game.
At 50-14, the only way the Lakers could let the Clippers (44-21) pass them for the top seed is by losing all of their remaining games, and the Clippers winning all of theirs.
