The Los Angeles Lakers brought on Tyson Chandler just eight games into the regular season because team president Magic Johnson was unhappy with the way the team was defending the paint. Now six games into his Lakers career, Chandler has impressed his boss.
During an in-game interview with Mike Trudell on Spectrum SportsNet, Johnson said that he could not be happier with his midseason signing:
“I love [Chandler]. Love him. Again, we brought in another champion and somebody to anchor our defense when JaVale is on the bench. He sets probably some of the best picks in basketball, and then when you think about Tyson, his basketball IQ is just like LeBron, just like Rondo.
