Lakers officially acquire draft rights to guard Brad Newley as part of Marcelo Huertas and Tyler Ennis trade

Due to the intrepid reporting of Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical, we already knew that the Los Angeles Lakers had swapped reserve Marcelo Huertas for Houston Rockets reserve Tyler Ennis in the rare case of a third-year player being swapped for a significantly older second-year one.

If the Lakers miss Huertas’ unique blend of little NBA experience and being over 30-years-old, they may have found a replacement in the same trade that sent him packing. The Lakers’ official press release about the trade revealed that the team had also acquired the draft rights to 32-year old guard/forward Brad Newley in addition to Ennis.
