Lakers' next big trade should go through JJ Redick's former team

If the Los Angeles Lakers are looking for their next big splash on the trade market, then they needn't search any further than JJ Redick's former team: The Philadelphia 76ers. Philadelphia recently completed a months-long negotiation process with Quentin Grimes that ended with the promising wing accepting his qualifying offer.

Running the risk of losing Grimes to unrestricted free agency in 2026, the 76ers may soon be willing to trade their productive wing.

Los Angeles would be wise to capitalize on an opportunity that appears destined to materialize. Grimes should have an early opportunity to build on his breakout 2024-25 season, as both Joel Embiid and Paul George are in the process of recovering from respective injuries.
