The Los Angeles Lakers announced Rajon Rondo was cleared for contact progression after he participated in what head coach Luke Walton described as “pretty much” all of Tuesday’s practice. Rondo underwent hand surgery on Nov. 15 and was projected to miss four to five weeks.
“He’s still holding back a little bit,” Walton added. “You can see if there’s a loose ball, he’ll reach for it with his [left] hand. If he gets into contact he’ll kind of protect [his right hand]. But he said it’s not from pain. It’s just any time you come back from injury, you kind of have to re-train your brain and react to what’s happening on the court.
