The Los Angeles Lakers announced that point guard Gabe Vincent has been ruled out on Sunday night’s game with a left ankle sprain after rolling it early in the third quarter.
The injury comes at an unfortunate time as the Lakers were super shorthanded with Luka Doncic, LeBron James and others. Doncic got off to a hot start to the season before suffering a left finger sprain and lower left leg contusion that will keep him out for at least a week of action.
With James also injured, Vincent was put in the Lakers’ starting lineup to begin the season to add some defensive toughness, ball-handling and shooting.
