There was perhaps a lesson for the Lakers to take away from their 109-90 loss to the Orlando Magic on Friday night.
Twice, the Lakers cut the Magic’s double-digit lead to manageable single digits. In the third quarter, the Lakers got as close as seven. In the fourth quarter they were as close as six.
But each time the Lakers made a run, the Magic fought back to once again extend their lead.
Orlando’s largest lead of the game was 25 points. The Magic scored 10 unanswered points to open the game, holding the Lakers scoreless until Nick Young made a three-pointer more than five minutes into the first quarter.
