Lakers are watching a painful missed opportunity unfold in Philadelphia

Rewind to the 2025 offseason, and there was a notable rumor involving the Philadelphia 76ers that should have been of great intrigue to the Los Angeles Lakers. The 76ers were looking to potentially unload Kelly Oubre Jr. or Andre Drummond, for the right price. The Lakers missed their shot.

This was before Philadelphia had brought back Quentin Grimes. The idea in that intel from Jake Fischer was that moving on from one, or both, of the two players mentioned above would allow the 76ers an opportunity to pay their former free agent more and lock down a long-term deal.
