Lakers absolutely dodge Bradley Beal bullet as he joins rival

The Los Angeles Lakers thankfully did not land Bradley Beal, as the three-time All-Star will reportedly sign with the Clippers after his buyout from the Suns. Getting him on a discount sounds great until fans realize how bad Beal had been in Phoenix. This season, the Suns were outscored by 7.7 points per 100 possessions with Beal on the floor. Phoenix outscored the opponent by 1.0 per 100 with him on the bench.

Ultimately, the Clippers won the bidding because they had more money to offer. Beal got a two-year deal worth $11 million. The Lakers couldn’t match after using their mid-level exception to sign Deandre Ayton and Jake LaRavia in free agency.
