While the Lakers were going through Byron Scott’s training camp in Hawaii, 12 Laker Girls had a training camp of their own in Waikiki, and first-year dancer Michelle joined us to describe the trip:
Q: On traveling to Hawaii with the Lakers for training camp.
Michelle: We really wish we could have brought everybody (21 girls), but the lucky bunch of us were extremely excited to come to get the season going from Hawaii. It was a great team-bonding experience. We managed to fit a bunch of fun things in, like snorkeling, surfing and hiking Diamond Head, but it was mostly a great experience working on (being Laker Girls), cleaning up our routines and getting into the flow of things.
