Dwight Howard Explains Why 2012-13 NBA Season With Lakers Ended In Failure

After winning two championships, the Los Angeles Lakers went all in and tried to keep their window open by trading for Dwight Howard and Steve Nash in 2012.

Along with Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol, the Lakers were viewed as the favorites to win the 2013 NBA Finals but ultimately failed to meet those high expectations.

Although the Lakers made a strong push in the second half, poor team chemistry and major injuries to their core players resulted in an early 2013 NBA playoff exit.

With Howard rejoining the Lakers under better circumstances, he reflected on his first stint in Los Angeles now, according to Melissa Rohlin of Sports Illustrated:

“I really can’t speak for Kobe, so I’ll speak for myself,” Howard said.
