EL SEGUNDO – D’Angelo Russell’s status for Tuesday’s matchup with Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder remains unclear after the Lakers second-year point guard did not participate in the team’s morning shootaround.
“He wants to play,” Coach Luke Walton said. “I think he’s just a little confused with how it’s playing out where some days it hurts and other days it doesn’t.”
Russell sat out Friday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs with left knee soreness and returned Sunday against the Chicago Bulls, only to shoot 3-of-11 in a 118-110 loss.
