Clippers don’t need Kawhi Leonard to defeat the Warriors

SAN FRANCISCO —

The momentum the Clippers built from a recent impressive trip had started to fizzle some as they headed towards the NBA’s All-Star weekend.

And they were trying to find their groove again while playing their last game before Sunday’s All-Star game in Indianapolis without star Kawhi Leonard, who sat out the contest against the Golden State Warriors with a strained left adductor.

Leonard has missed just five games this season, his 24.1 points per game and 6.1 rebounds sorely missed in this game against another worthy Western Conference foe in the Warriors.
