Anthony Davis Focused On ‘Legacy Over Money’ After Trade Request To Pelicans

After 6.5 seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans, Anthony Davis requested a trade through agent Rich Paul with the 2018-19 NBA trade deadline approaching.

With the Boston Celtics unable to trade for Davis due to Kyrie Irving and the ‘Rose Rule’ until July 1, this provides the Los Angeles Lakers until Feb. 7. While Davis and Paul did not provide the Pelicans a list of potential teams, the Lakers are reportedly his preferred destination via trade or 2020 free agency.

As general manager Dell Demps reportedly did not return their calls at first, president of basketball operations Magic Johnson eventually presented him with five trade proposals.
