The Los Angeles Lakers currently have the best record in the NBA this season thanks to LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Many have expected LeBron James to be in the MVP conversation at the end of this year thanks to his incredible stats night in and night out and leading his team to 21 wins. However, not many people thought Anthony Davis would throw his name in the hat as well, but Davis has turned himself into a legitimate MVP candidate. Players like LeBron, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic have been a part of the conversation since the start of the season, but after his 50-point game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony Davis is ready to jump as well.

Avery Bradley has missed a significant amount of time for the Los Angeles Lakers with a hairline fracture in his right leg. The Lakers’ point guard suffered in the injury in mid-November, but now he is on the fast track to returning to action. The Los Angeles Lakers played the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday as Bradley sat out, but he did return to action in practice for full contact drills. Bradley was a significant part of the Lakers’ defensive success, and he will be vital to the team come playoffs against guards like Luka Doncic and James Harden. Head coach Frank Vogel believes Bradley will return on the road trip the Lakers are currently on.

Dwight Howard has been a very unexpected and positive surprise for the Lakers off the bench all season. Howard signed a non-guaranteed deal in the summer just in case things went south for both he and the Lakers. Many fans believed Rob Pelinka negotiated that deal with Dwight Howard into a non-guaranteed one, but Dwight Howard actually requested the deal be non-guaranteed so that he could prove himself to his team, teammates and the Los Angeles Lakers fans. So far in this young season, Dwight Howard has proven that, while he may not be the Dwight Howard of old, he is still capable of making a real difference out on the floor off the bench for the Los Angeles Lakers.
