Los Angeles Lakers currently have the best record in the NBA at 11-2. Despite the hot start to the season, we’re breaking down 5 possible point guards the Lakers could trade for including Dennis Schroder and Cory Joseph. Lakers rumors are focused on Kobe Bryant’s return to Staples Center and Dwight Howard snubbing Lebron James.
The Lakers are currently at max capacity on their roster, so they’d have to make a trade if they’re looking to improve at the point guard position. Dennis Schroder is easily one of the top back-up point guards in the league, but he won’t come cheap. Schroder is making $15.5 million, which would require LA to send off Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jared Dudley, Talen Horton-Tucker and possibly a second round pick. With Oklahoma City Thunder in a rebuild phase and the Lakers in win-now mode, it makes sense for both sides.
Speaking of bringing talent in, let’s talk about Kobe's return to the Lakers... return to a Lakers game that is. Bryant sat courtside with his daughter Gianna on Sunday. It was Kobe Bryant’s first game he’s attended since October 25,2018 when the Lakers took on the Nuggets. Kobe mingled with LBJ and Dwight Howard and received a standing ovation as he exited the game.
