Are The Lakers At An All-Time Low?

The Los Angeles Lakers were once considered to be one of the premier franchises in the NBA. They had an incredible lineup of players that included LeBron James, and it seemed for a time like the team was unstoppable.

However, nowadays, the story is much different. The Lakers seem to be the laughingstock of the league, and it’s not a stretch to say that they are at probably one of the lowest points in their history. Let’s look at why this is the case and see if it’s time to fire up that it’s time to fire up that Bet22 login and make some tactical wagers.

No More All-Stars
Unfortunately, the LeBron James era is beginning to come to an end.

It won’t be long until the Lakers don’t have a player of that caliber in the lineup anymore. They can try and replace LeBron and build a new squad, but the problem is that right now, most of the team is young and inexperienced.

This is not a problem normally because most teams have a balance of younger talent that needs to be molded and veteran players that can help provide that mentorship. However, the balance with the Lakers has become a little bit skewed recently, so the team just doesn’t have that veteran talent anymore.

Recent Losses
Unfortunately, recent losses have done little to alleviate the sense of tension that is currently going on for Lakers fans as they watch what was a very proud team slide into mediocrity.

A 133-99 loss to the Nuggets did not help matters. It proved what a lot of people were secretly suspicious of, and that is that the Lakers just don’t have the power to compete anymore.

The majority of fans can accept the loss because they understand the team isn’t doing too well, but the internal politics of the franchise are not helping the overall attitude of the fan base. There is a lot of vying at the top levels for power, and the highest-ranking members of the franchise are grappling amongst themselves for who gets to sit in the center chair. This doesn’t go well with a team that’s already struggling because there’s a lack of focus on every level.

Fierce Competition
The biggest problem that the Lakers are currently facing is that the west is rapidly filling up with teams that they just can’t beat. The Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, and Los Angeles Clippers are all teams that are just better objectively.

When you factor in that the overall level of skill that is demanded to participate in the competition is getting higher as well, you don’t create a good situation for the Lakers to perform. There are teams that have better rosters that are struggling to get into the playoffs at all, and they have that mix of young and old talent to balance them out. The Lakers don’t even have that anymore.

In the face of such stiff competition, it’s going to be hard for the Lakers to keep up. They just don’t have the momentum necessary to do so, and that’s going to really impact things.

Final Thoughts
Ultimately, the Los Angeles Lakers were a good team once. They could be a good team again, but there is no denying that this is not a good period for them.

They exist in a sort of slump at the moment, compounded by the fact that they don’t have enough star power and that there is a disharmonious atmosphere inside the basic structure of the team. How this will resolve is anybody’s guess.
