Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Assistant Coach Steve Clifford To Be Hired By Bobcats

The most recent veteran assistant coach of Los Angeles Lakers Steve Clifford has been recently hired by the Bobcats as what close sources claim last Monday. However, the team still did not render any information to confirm this.

Steve Clifford has worked for the last ten seasons for popular NBA coaches like Jeff and Stan Van Gundy. Many know that he has a specialty on the defense strategies. For Jeff Van Gundy, he worked for the Houston Rockets while with Stan Van Gundy, it was for the Orlando Magic team. When the time came that Stan Van Gundy left Orlando Magic, Clifford was hired by former Lakers coach Mike Brown.

Clifford continued to become the lead assistant of the team even when Brown got fired and replaced by Mike D’Antoni.

As for the rumored move, Clifford is to replace Mike Dunlap who was recently fired by the Bobcats. The Bobcats hired Dunlap then when the team decided not to re-sign coach Paul Silas. At present, Silas serves as team consultant instead.
