Lakers Trade Rumors: Mitch Kupchak says any trades will address Lakers' future

It looks like any and all Lakers trade rumors from here on out will have an eye to the 2014-15 NBA season and beyond--or so says LA Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak.

Kupchak spoke with members of the press prior to the Los Angeles Lakers' home game tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Lakers.com beat writer Mike Trudell tweeted out Mitch Kupchak's philosophy on any potential upcoming trades--

Trudell also quote Kupchak as saying that "the hole we’ve dug is deep & going into the trade deadline, our approach is going to be different than in year’s past."

Whether Kupchak's words indicate any possible plans for 4-time NBA All-Star Pau Gasol or not, it is looking increasingly clear that the LA Lakers' current youth movement won't be ending any time soon.

As of now, the Lakers are 18-34, and just a half-game ahead of the Sacramento Kings for worst record in the Western Conference.
