We have now confirmed a prior rumor that Kobe Bryant's wife of over ten years has filed for divorce earlier this afternoon in Los Angeles.

TMZ was the first outlet to report the story within the last hour.
Bryant, who began dating Vanessa when she was still in high school and he was an NBA star, was said to be cheating on his wife with numerous woman and Vanessa finally had enough of it. Vanessa reportedly petitioned for divorce on December 1st, with today's filing making it official.
She has asked the court to grant her joint-custody of the couple 2 daughters, 8-year-old Natalia and 5-year-old Giana, while making it clear that the girls are to live with her.
As you know, Kobe cheated on Vanessa in 2003 in Colorado with a unidentified hotel worker who claimed that he sexually assaulted her. The charges were later dropped.
TMZ has learned that the couple has NO PRENUP, so 29-year-old Vanessa is entitled to half of the Kobe empire from the last decade.
