Lakers News: Lakers have 6.3% chance to win draft lottery

In Lakers news today, the Los Angeles Lakers are about a 16-to-1 underdog to pick up the first pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

So tweeted out Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com on Sunday:

The Los Angeles Lakers finished the season at 27-55 which places them in sixth position for the 2014 NBA Draft lottery. Per Eric Pincus of the Los Angeles Times, "The NBA will give out 1,000 combinations of four ping pong balls to the 14 lottery teams. In sixth position, the Lakers will get 63 combinations, giving 6.3% odds of landing the top pick, 7.1% the second and 8.1% the third."

This gives the Lakers a 21.5% chance as of right now to land one of the top three picks in 2014's loaded draft class. The Lakers also have a 43.9% chance of staying in the sixth spot and a 30.5% chance of falling to seventh.
