Former Los Angeles Lakers' owner Jerry Buss' family trust is about five million dollars richer today after selling his Los Angeles-area mansion on Friday.

Per Russell Valenzuela of LakersNation.com, Lauren Beale of the LA time is reporting that Buss' abode, which he had custom built for himself, is now off the real-estate market: "Jerry Buss’ show-stopping mansion in Playa del Rey has sold for $5.1 million," Beale reported.

According to Valenzuela, "following his death February 2013, Buss’s property, including the Lakers and various estates, went to his family trust. The Buss children are currently trying to make their own mark with the Lakers."

Current vice president of basketball operations Jim Buss is looking to the offseason ahead as his chance to rebuild the Los Angeles Lakers into the same powerhouse which Jerry Buss oversaw before his passing. If he can't bring the Lakers back to their glory days, there are numerous reports surfacing that he will step down from his position.
